What information we collect
We collect information you give us directly when you submit a property address, fill out a form, or contact us. Depending on the form, this may include your name, phone number, email address, and the address of the property you’re asking about.
We also collect limited technical information automatically. When you visit the site, our server records your IP address and uses it to estimate which city you’re browsing from, so we can show locally relevant content. This estimate is not stored against your name and is not used to identify you.
You can browse the site without submitting any personal information.
How we use your information
- To prepare and send you a cash offer on your property
- To contact you about that offer or a question you asked
- To complete a sale if you accept an offer
- To improve how the site works
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.
Text messages and phone calls
If you check the consent box on one of our forms, you agree to receive calls and text messages from Higginbotham Homes at the number you provided, including messages sent using automated technology. Consent is not required to receive an offer or to sell your home.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and you can reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of text messages does not prevent us from calling you about an offer you requested.
We keep a record of the consent you gave, including the wording shown to you and the date, so we can confirm what you agreed to. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Who we share information with
We share your information only with companies that help us operate, and only as far as they need it to do that work:
- Carrot— our customer relationship management provider. Property enquiries you submit are forwarded to Carrot so our team can follow up. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Title companies— if you proceed with a sale, the title company handling your closing receives the information needed to complete it.
- Service providers— hosting and similar services required to run the site.
We may also disclose information where we believe in good faith that doing so is required to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our customers, or others.
If Higginbotham Homes is acquired by or merged with another company, information about you may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you and, where a sale takes place, for as long as required for our business and tax records. Records of text message consent are kept for as long as we may need to demonstrate that consent was given. You can ask us to delete your information using the contact details below.
Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand how people use the site so we can improve it. This includes information such as your IP address, browser type, and which pages you viewed. You can read about how Google handles this data at google.com/policies/privacy/partners.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Doing so may affect how parts of the site work.
Advertising
We may use advertising services from Google and other providers, including remarketing. These services use cookies to show our ads to people who have previously visited our site, on Google search results, sites in the Google Display Network, and other platforms. We do not provide these services with information that identifies you personally.
You can opt out of personalised Google advertising through Google Ads Settings.
How we protect your information
We use a range of security measures to protect personal information when you submit it and while we hold it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Property and financial information
We are a real estate investment company, and helping with your situation sometimes requires information about your property and occasionally about your finances — for example, an approximate mortgage balance. This information is used to evaluate your property and prepare an offer. It is not shared outside our company except where necessary to complete a transaction you have agreed to.
California residents
We do not distribute your personal information to outside parties for their own use without your consent. If you are a California resident and would like to know what personal information we hold about you, or would like it deleted, please contact us using the details below.
Children
Our website and services are directed to people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, in line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
Other websites
Our site may link to other websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Once you leave our site, this policy no longer applies.
This policy covers information collected through our website only, not information collected offline.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the date at the top.
